Biography
James graduated in 2012 with an MEng in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, Magdalen College, where he specialised in electrical, electronic and control engineering. His current research, the incorporation of liquid crystals and gain media into self-assembled gyroid metamaterials, is an interdisciplinary collaboration between the Centre of Molecular Materials for Photonics and Electronics in the Department of Engineering, and the Thin Films and Interfaces Group and NanoPhotonics Centre in the Department of Physics. He is supervised in each of the groups by Professors Tim Wilkinson, Ullrich Steiner and Jeremy Baumberg respectively. James is a member of the Nano Doctoral Training Centre and Trinity College.
