Laser Labs
CMMPE also has at its disposal a number of dark-labs, dedicated to laser use.
Our low power laser labs are used to construct and test our latest innovations in optical engineering, computer generated holography, optical correlation, adaptive optics for ophthalmics and optical telecommunications.
We also have several high power laser labs featuring class IV lasers. These are both tunable and fixed frequency varieties, including a tunable excitation source (optical parametric oscillator (OPO)). High power lasers are used for activities including the testing of optical telecommunications devices, optical pumping of liquid crystal lasers, dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurements, Raman spectroscopy and photon correlation spectroscopy.
