Mentor Direct Activities in the University of Cambridge

Up to September 2003, the University was a member (site number 90303) of the Mentor Direct scheme, under which software from Mentor Graphics was made available for teaching and research.

From October 2003 the UK Mentor Direct scheme was discontinued.  In its place the Europractice scheme (of which the University is also a member) was extended to include virtually all elements previously supported under Mentor Direct.

The University representative for both initiatives is David Holburn, Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge.

For information about the Mentor products currently available under the European Europractice Initiative, please visit the local Europractice Resource Site.

Y2K compliance for users of Mentor software on HP platforms

HP-UX 10.20 is required (with Y2K patches) for workstations.  If you are running 9.x there is a free upgrade programme to HP-UX 10.20, if you don't have a software support contract.  (Note: some older systems like 715, B160L and certain other 7xx workstations may have insufficient disk/memory for this upgrade to be practicable.  You may need to consider upgrading to a newer platform.)

(information supplied by OCSL)

All 'Direct Support' Educational customers should upgrade to the MGC-C2 Release of the Mentor software or later.   This is the earliest release that is Y-2K compliant.

Designer's Kits

Libraries, technology files and documentation usable with Mentor IC Station are available for most of Europractice's foundry services.  These are shipped in encrypted form on CD to the University coordinator.  For further information, see the Europractice Resource site.
