Fabian Micallef received his BSc. Degree (First Class Honours) in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Malta in 2014. He was also involved in an internship program at the LBNL in Berkeley Ca in the summer of 2011, where he worked on indoor air quality modelling. He was also awarded the special price for science 2014 and the award for best final year project in the numerate science 2014 from the University of Malta for his work on frequency modulated continuous wave radar systems. He has now joined the Electrical Engineering Division within the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge as a PhD candidate under the supervision of Professor Daping Chu.

Fabian is a graduate student at Churchill College where he is involved in the MCR committee in the role of internal social secretary.

Research interests:

  • IR LC SLM materials and construction
  • Algorithms for laser beam steering and other functionalities
  • IR Ladar antennas and IR countermeasures
