Overview
The Multimedia Group was formed to develop and promote the use of multimedia technology within the Department. It was disbanded in May 2004.
Our projects included enhancing the Department's web site to provide further information about current research projects and producing the undergraduate prospectus, which is available on the Department's web site and on CD-ROM in an interactive format.
Techniques for producing courses suitable for Distance Learning were also being investigated with a view to enhancing the Department's role in this area, particularly for projects being proposed through the Department's new links with MIT. Video conferencing facilities have been introduced and made use of in this context.
Locally, dissemination of information was improved by the introduction of a plasma screen in the foyer and a news feature on the Department's home page.
