Turbomachinery Laboratory
A further major development was the building of the Turbomachinery Laboratory
on the West Cambridge Site under the direction of John Horlock. This laboratory,
opened in 1973, housed low speed and rotating cascade tunnels moved from
the heat laboratory as well as a 2MW compressor. Sir Frank Whittle was
present at the opening.
