ACDMM
In this respect the course was and is different to other academic courses
because it has no fixed location - the project and visit periods can take
place in any part of the country. The intensive life on the road gives
graduates experience of working in different parts of the country and
an opportunity to decide whether the itinerant life of a consultancy would
suit them better than a fixed place of work. All course members become
members of Wolfson College Cambridge, giving them a 'home' base. Although
aimed at essentially graduates from numerate disciplines, successful experiments
were also carried out to include arts graduates and careers teachers from
secondary schools.
For many years the course was run jointly with the Universities of Durham
and Lancaster, with ACDMM staff based in all three Universities. It is
now run entirely from Cambridge.
