Dr Hermann Hauser was born in Vienna, went to school in the Austrian Tyrol and gained an MA in Physics from Vienna University.  His doctorate in Physics was at the University of Cambridge.

In 1978 he was co-founder and Chairman of Acorn Computers and was UK Computer Personality of the Year in 1984.  He founded the Active Book Company in 1988 and from 1992 onwards he has founded Vocalis Ltd, Advanced Displays Ltd, Electronic Share Information Ltd, Advanced Telecommunications Modules Ltd, Advanced Rendering Technology Ltd, Entertainment On-Line, NetChannel Inc, Net Products Ltd and co-founded Amadeus Capital Partners Ltd, Virata Ltd and Cambridge Network Ltd.

His lecture on Entrepreneurship will draw on the experiences of these start-ups as part of the Cambridge Phenomenon and will examine possibilities for the start of the next millennium.
