Use of EUROPRACTICE Alcatel Design Kits for Analogue and Digital Designs, 24, 25, 26 & 27 JANUARY 2000.

RAL is pleased to announce the above three and a half day course which will take place at the Cosener's House, Abingdon, UK, on Monday 24 to Thursday 27 January 2000.
Start Time 0930, finish time 1730 (1230 on Thursday).
We invite applications from staff and research workers from your institution with the following knowledge.
Knowledge of analogue/digital design concepts and some knowledge and experience of Cadence Software tools (Analog Artist/Silicon Ensemble) are required.
This is an extensive course using the Cadence Software tools and Synopsys Design Compiler with the Aleatel 0.35um CMOS Library Design Kits covering analogue and digital design flows. The primary object of the course is to provide an understanding of an analogue and digital design flows, emphasising the flow itself rather than the specific tools used. The following topics will be addressed:
Digital Simulation (Verilog-XL) and
Logic Synthesis (Synopsys Design Compiler)
Analog Artist Simulation and Analysis
Place and Route using Silicon Ensemble
Generation of final gds2 file for fabrication
The course will contain both formal lectures and practical walkthrough exercises.
The EUROPRACTICE/Alcatel 0.35um CMOS Non-Disclosure Agreement MUST be completed in advance of the course date. If this agreement has already been completed for your institution, there is no need to do this again. DRAL will check with IMEC to ensure that they are in receipt of the agreement from each applicant's member institute. Non completion of the agreement will prevent attendance on the course.
This course will be free to EPSRC customers in the UK.
Please note that course numbers are strictly limited and due to the expected high demand for places, only one person per institution will be allowed to attend. Please co-ordinate the applications from the interested parties from your institution so that the most suitable candidate is chosen.
A number of rooms have been provisionally booked on a bed and breakfast basis at The Cosener's House, Abingdon. Costs per person, per night are as follows:
Single Room with Shared Facilities £46 Twin Room with Shared Facilities £36.
(If a Twin Room is occupied by a single person then the Single Room Rate will apply)
