Publicity

Number of Positions: 2

Currently held by: Dharmendra Lad and Sarah Bird

CUES, as you know, holds many events and activities throughout the year and it's your responsibility to guarantee the hard work of the rest of your committee is publicised to the 1000+ members who you'll be aiming to attract. The post of Publicity Officer really only requires three essentials, which I think most people in Cambridge certainly don't lack - creativity, organisation and team working. We don't ask for a Turner Prize winner as long you can capture eyes and minds with your work using whatever media you can find open to you. Most of the material you'll produce will be put up in the department although we have started to use the colleges too; most of the time you'll be designing posters, flyers, OHP slides etc., unless you find new approaches. There's also a term planner which needs to be designed and distributed to the members at the beginning of each term. This post is also usually shared with another person, as there can quite often be a lot to do for one.

Along with free entry to all the socials, I think the post's a great opportunity to demonstrate your team working and communication abilities and great CV points.
