Alan Hughes is the Margaret Thatcher Professor of Enterprise Studies at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. He is the Director of the Centre for Business Research (CBR) at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of Sidney Sussex College.

Research interests

The commercialisation of science: measurement and evaluation of science, industrial and business support policy; the nature and effectiveness of university-industry relationships: growth innovation and financial characteristics of small and medium-sized enterprises; the relationship between corporate takeover, corporate governance, executive pay and business performance; the relationship between law and economics in the analysis of corporate organisation and performance.
